1205. Does Perception of Cleanliness Matter? A Correlational Study Exploring Patient Perception of Cleanliness and HAC Score Performance

Abstract Background One of the most common causes healthcare associated infections (HAIs) is due to environmental contamination surfaces in patient care areas. Cleaning and disinfection these has been shown reduce incidence HAIs contributes overall hospital cleanliness. Currently, cleanliness publicly reported through Hospital Consumer Assessment Healthcare Providers Systems (HCAHPS) survey that sent all patients discharged from a facility. There very limited research on if perception related facility as defined by facility's performance Acquired Conditions (HAC) program. Methods A retrospective correlational study was performed examine relationship Clostridioides difficile (C. difficile) Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) HAC score.
